Advocating for Kentucky Agents in Washington
In September, PIAKY was proud to attend the 2025 Annual Leadership Conference & Advocacy Day in Washington, D.C. This national gathering of independent agents is one of the most important opportunities we have each year to ensure Kentucky’s voice is heard on the federal-level issues that matter most to our members.
Not only did we connect with association leaders and peers from across the country, but we also brought Kentucky’s perspective directly to lawmakers on Capitol Hill. Advocacy is a core part of our mission, and your membership helps make this representation possible.
I was joined by board members Jay King of John G. King Insurance, our President, and Allison Luckett of KIWI Insurance, who shared valuable insights from their experience:
“The biggest takeaway for me was the reminder that collaboration makes us stronger. Conversations with agents from across the country gave me new ideas I’ll be bringing back to my agency here in Kentucky.” – Jay King, President, Professional Insurance Agents of Kentucky
“Meeting directly with legislators, including Kentucky’s own congressional leaders, was a powerful experience. We were able to share our stories and advocate for policies that protect both our clients and our businesses.” – Allison Luckett, Board Member, Professional Insurance Agents of Kentucky
Their voices echo what I believe is the real strength of our association: when Kentucky agents show up, connect, and speak with one voice, we make a difference. Thank you for your continued support of PIAKY — together, we are building a stronger future for independent agents in our state and beyond.
