Facts Matter: Independent Agents and the NFIP
PIA National President Wayne White shares his thoughts on professional independent insurance agents who sell policies backed by the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) in a guest article in PC 360.com.
“For decades, the National Association of Professional Insurance Agents (PIA) has been a strong supporter of the NFIP, and we remain a champion of the NFIP because it provides property owners with critical flood insurance coverage that the private market, despite its growth, remains unable to adequately supply,” wrote White.
White countered some of the myths about agent participation that surfaced in a recent hearing of the Senate Committee on Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs. The committee is considering reauthorization of the NFIP; its current authority expires on Sept. 30, 2021. You can read Wayne’s full article here.*
