Non-Dues Revenue – Partnerships and sponsorships with insurance industry organizations
PIA will cultivate high‑value partnerships and sponsorships that meaningfully align with the needs of professional independent agents. This includes developing structured corporate partnership tiers, expanding visibility opportunities for industry allies, and creating new sponsored programs that deliver value to agents while creating sustainable, diversified revenue streams. Success includes deepening relationships with carriers, vendors, and service providers and positioning PIA as the preferred national platform for industry collaboration.
Financials – Revenue over expense (margin discipline and transparency)
PIA will operate with a disciplined financial mindset that ensures our mission is supported by healthy, predictable margins. We will strengthen financial reporting, increase transparency with governance bodies, and embed budget accountability across all departments. The organization will implement best‑practice forecasting, cost controls, and investment strategies that allow PIA to grow responsibly while maintaining the trust of members, affiliates, and partners.
Membership Revenue – National Only dues increase, Affiliate 5%
PIA will build a compelling, data‑driven case for modernizing the dues structure to sustain long‑term organizational stability. This includes clearly articulating member value, defining ROI in terms relevant to today’s agencies, and equipping affiliates with branded messaging. The objective is to secure broad support for dues increase that aligns revenue with the scale of services and advocacy PIA delivers nationwide.
Structure – Modernize structure of PIA
PIA will evaluate and evolve its national–affiliate structure to ensure operational efficiency, governance clarity, and alignment with the future of the association model. This includes updating affiliate agreements, clarifying responsibilities, and modernizing systems that support collaboration. The goal is to create an integrated organization with “shared prosperity.”
Expand Membership – Deliver new membership models
PIA will explore expanding into new membership models that reflect the diversity of today’s independent agency landscape. This includes segment‑specific models for ascending agencies, diverse ownership, and non‑traditional participants in the distribution channel. The framework will include pricing strategies, value propositions, and onboarding experiences that scale nationally and drive meaningful membership growth locally.
Affiliate Alignment – Build new, more inclusive agreements
PIA will redesign national–affiliate agreements to create a more unified, inclusive, and future‑focused ecosystem. The new framework will support shared goals, clarify rights and responsibilities, reduce administrative friction, and ensure consistency in member experience. Through collaborative development, PIA will build agreements that reinforce trust, promote fairness, and enable coordinated national impact.
Technology – Make PIA a leader in technology information
PIA will position itself as the leading source of technology insight for independent agents by curating practical, unbiased, and actionable information. This includes growing the Technology Council, including the agent’s voice in Technology strategic direction, expanding educational programming, and providing members with forward‑looking guidance that helps them navigate digital transformation. The objective is for PIA to become the industry’s respected and vetted voice on agency technology.
Enhance CPIA – Create advanced programs
PIA will elevate the CPIA designation by developing advanced and specialized programs that extend the learning pathway and reinforce CPIA as the premier designation for agency sales, operations, and growth practices. Enhancements may include new certifications, advanced coursework, digital delivery improvements, and partnerships that increase recognition across the insurance ecosystem. The goal is to expand CPIA’s prestige, marketability, and revenue potential.
Communications – Platform campaign
PIA will execute a modern communications strategy that fully activates social media, paid ads, and tools, including the “Inchanted” platform, to deliver a cohesive brand narrative across all channels. This includes national and affiliate alignment, multichannel campaign deployment, and the development of compelling member‑centric videos that illustrate the impact of independent agents. The strategy will increase visibility, strengthen brand perception, and reinforce PIA’s relevance in a competitive marketplace.
Branding – Consistent brand
PIA will implement a unified brand architecture and identity system to ensure consistency across national, affiliate, and programmatic communications. This includes updated brand guidelines, shared templates, staff and affiliate training, and ongoing governance to maintain brand integrity. The objective is to build a recognizable, vetted, and modern brand that supports growth and reinforces PIA’s leadership position.
Advocacy – Expand sustained impact
PIA will strengthen its advocacy footprint by partnering with a high‑caliber government consulting firm and expanding its year‑round influence at both the federal and state levels. This strategy includes building stronger coalitions, enhancing legislative intelligence and outreach, and increasing visibility on key policy issues affecting independent agents. The goal is to deliver more proactive, sustained advocacy that elevates PIA’s voice and delivers measurable wins for members.
